ATM Outage Adjuster Configuration File

The OA.Config file is used by both the ATM Outage Adjuster and the AimDbBackup utility, to store the database configuration. It is also used to store the backup defaults for AimDbBackup, when no AimDbBackup.ini file is defined.

Normally, this file should not need to be changed manually. The settings contained within are defined below.

Database Mode

Value Default: database

Used by: ATM Outage Adjuster

This key is used to define to use either the simulator or database mode. If the value is ‘database’, it means to use the current AIM Availability Database and to alter the scheduled hours of operations as well as the actual hours of operation.
If value is ‘simulator’, it means to access ATM Outage Adjuster without using the AIM Availability Database, used to showcase what the ATM Outage Adjuster looks like.

OA Database Connection String

Value Default: Persist Security Info=False;Integrated Security=SSPI;database=<database-prefix>AimAvailAdhoc;server=<server>;Connect Timeout=30

Used by: ATM Outage Adjuster

Schedule Dump Path

Value Default: <prognosis-install>\Server

Used by: ATM Outage Adjuster

The schedule dump path is used to find the application irschutl.exe that gets used for Reapplying or Selecting a new schedule from Prognosis.

Schedule Dump Node

Value Default: <NonStop-node>

Used by: ATM Outage Adjuster

The schedule dump path is used to identify the NonStop node used to extract the Prognosis schedules using the application irschutl.exe

<type-prefix>DB Name

Value Default: <database-prefix>AimAvail<type-prefix>

Used by: ATM Outage Adjuster and AimDbBackup

The database names that are used for AIM Availability Databases. Used primarily for ATM Outage Adjuster for adjustments, AimDbBackup for backups and for the Prognosis reports.

ServiceTime DB Name

Value Default:  <database-prefix>AimServiceTime

Used by: AimDbBackup

The service time database primarily used for both Prognosis reports and for AimDbBackup to backup the Service Time Database.

Utility Database Connection String

Value Default: Persist Security Info=False;Integrated Security=SSPI;database=Master;server=<server>;Connect Timeout=30

Used by: AimDbBackup

Log File Default

Value Default: <prognosis-install>\Server\ATM Outage Adjuster\Output.txt

Used by: AimDbBackup

This configuration is used to build the corresponding section in the AimDbBackup.ini when the file does not exist.

The Log File Default is used to log the file output of an AimDbBackup process for backup and restoring.

<template-prefix> Retention Default

Value Default: 2

Used by: AimDbBackup

This configuration is used to be inserted into the AimDbBackup.ini when the file does not exist in the first place.

The Retention default is used to indicate how many default Service Time and Availability backups are to be made. The higher the number the more default backups are stored per day.

<template-prefix> Template Default

Value Default: Aim<template-prefix>Backup

Used by: AimDbBackup

This configuration is used to build the corresponding section in the AimDbBackup.ini when the file does not exist.

The Template Default is used to generate the default backup file names for both Service Time and Availability databases.

<extension-prefix> Extension Default

Value Default: <extension-value-prefix>

Used by: AimDbBackup

This configuration is used to build the corresponding section in the AimDbBackup.ini when the file does not exist.

The Extension default is used to generate the default backup file name extension used for both the logging of the backup (.log) and the actual default backup (.bak).

Timeout

Value Default: 28800

Used by: ATM Outage Adjuster and AimDbBackup

The Timeout was used by both the ATM Outage Adjuster and AimDbBackup for the database timeout (in seconds) when an action takes too long to perform.

Where:

<database-prefix>
means the database prefix that is used to identify a Prognosis Database. By default Prognosis is the database-prefix.

<server>
means the instance of where the Prognosis databases resides at. Default is normally <local DNS>\Prognosis, where <local DNS> is the local network host name.

<prognosis-install>
means the installation folder path  for Prognosis e.g.  C:\Prognosis

<NonStop-node>
means the node of the NonStop connection. This is usually typed upon installation as default.

<type-prefix>
means the type of AIM Availability Databases whether it is either: Daily, Weekly, Monthly or AdHoc.

<template-prefix>
means either if it’s the Availability (Avail) or the Service Time (Service) database for a template used for backup.

<extension-prefix>
means the extension prefix for the backup or the log entry.

<extension-value-prefix>
       means the value of those extension prefix .log for the log files and .bak for the actual backups.
