Monitoring Cisco Unified SIP Proxy Data

Once configured correctly, data will be available through a range of dashboards in the Web Application. These dashboards can be accessed through the 'Network Devices' section in the navigation panel.

Clicking Cisco Unified SIP Proxy in the navigator panel will open the All Cisco Unified SIP Proxies dashboard. This Display shows a list of recent alerts for all configured Cisco Unified SIP Proxies in the upper panel, and an overview of the Calls Per Second and an overview of the Total Call Volume in the lower panels.

Cisco Unified SIP Proxy Summary

Clicking on a specific Cisco Unified SIP Proxy device name in the second (Instance) navigation panel will open the Cisco Unified SIP Proxy Summary Display. Also, expanding the Cisco Unified SIP Proxy name will show a number of links that can be used to gain direct access to the complete range of Cisco Unified SIP Proxy data Displays, including: Alerts, Connections, Licenses, Logs, Sessions, Status and Commands.

The Cisco Unified SIP Proxy Summary Display provides an operational overview of the selected device.

This display provides a table with open alerts and recent SNMP notifications, a chart showing the Calls Per Second in the last hour plus tables with server information and the system uptime. There is also a link to the license page.

Alerts

Clicking on the Alerts item under the required Unified SIP Proxy device in the second navigation panel will open the Cisco Unified SIP Proxy - Alerts display.

This display will show details of alerts that have been raised as a result of threshold conditions configured in the IptDeviceTh threshold. Some alerts are based on CLI and SNMP polled data, these are the alerts with status OPEN (the source for these is 'Prognosis'), and some alerts are based on SNMP v2c notifications received by the SNMP trap collector, these are CLOSED alerts (the source for these is 'CUSP'). The list can be filtered on severity and source.

Connections

Clicking on the Connections item under the required Unified SIP Proxy device in the second navigation panel will open the Cisco Unified SIP Proxy Connections display.

This display shows details of all current Cisco Unified SIP Proxy interfaces and TCP connections.

Licences

Clicking on the Licences item under the required Unified SIP Proxy device in the second navigation panel will open the Cisco Unified SIP Proxy Licences display.

Logs

Clicking on the Logs item under the required Unified SIP Proxy device in the second navigation panel will open the Cisco Unified SIP Proxy SIP Peg-Counting Log display.

This display shows a table with the peg-counting details per SIP Message type.

SIP peg-counting logging needs to be enabled on the CUSP to be able to see data.  By default, it is not enabled because it may impact the performance of the CUSP. See the Cisco 'Troubleshooting Guide For Cisco Unified SIP Proxy' that applies to your version of CUSP on how to turn on the logging.

Sessions

Clicking on the Sessions item under the required Unified SIP Proxy device in the second navigation panel will open the Cisco Unified SIP Proxy Sessions display.

This display shows graphs with the Average and Peak Calls Per Second, the Total Call Volume per minute and the CPU and Memory usage.  There is a pie chart with the total successful and failed calls since last startup, and a table with processes that should be running on the Unified SIP Proxy. There are links to the Log display, a detailed Call Stats display and a detailed Process display.

Status

Clicking on the Status item under the required Unified SIP Proxy device in the second navigation panel will open the Cisco Unified SIP Proxy Status SIP display.

This display shows a table with the current SIP status of the device. The display has links to several other pages with status information.  The SIP Status is displayed by default, but links to Queue Status, NTP Server Status, Server-Group SIP Status, Server-Group Radius Status and Backup History Status exist. The link to the Configurations display navigates to the Cisco Unified SIP Proxy Configuration display which provides an overview of various device configuration items.
