Web and API User Setup

Cisco Expressway monitoring requires a web user name and password to login and access information for the Expressway device. The user credentials are required when adding a new Cisco Expressway Device using the Web Application, or directly in the PASSWORD Configuration if configuring manually using the Windows Client.

It is normal to provide the admin account, however if a restricted user needs to be setup for this access, then use these steps to create and setup a dedicated user.

Log on to the Web Administration interface of the Cisco Expressway device, i.e. https://<device-ip-address>

From the menu bar select: Users → Administrator Accounts

This will open the Administrator accounts page.

Use the New button to create a new user

Complete the fields as required

Name:New login name (eg 'prognosis')
Access Level:This can be 'Read-only'
Password:Create a secure password
Web access:Select 'Yes'
API access:Select 'Yes"
State:Select 'Enabled'

Provide Authorization if required.

When finished click the Save button
