The Transact suite consists of a number of modules that provide comprehensive management and monitoring solutions for a range of financial vendor environments, including; Automated Teller Machine (ATM) and Point of Sale (POS) transactions. Transact offers continuous monitoring of service levels, alerts for system unavailability, notification of potential system difficulties and capacity planning, all with the use of in-depth data capture to a unified database.

Business Insight

Business Insight is an add-on module that provides a broad range of reporting tools for the Transact product lines.

Business Insight makes use of the Microsoft SQL Server toolset, which consists of SQL Server Integration Services and SQL Server Reporting Services. It can be used to satisfy a broad range of reporting requirements with 'out of the box' report packs. It can also be used to generate reports using more advanced SQL queries and other functions to support custom requirements.

Business Insight can scale to store billions of rows of data (many years’ worth) with the storage format providing a compromise between the efficiency of storage performance and ease of use. Data is constantly streamed to the Business Insight database so that health indicator metrics (e.g. Voice Quality) will be available for reporting or search within minutes of being completed.

Business Insight provides a solution that:

  • Allows data that is currently being captured to be compared with data from the past.
  • Provides a method of finding events that occurred seconds ago, months ago or even years ago.
  • Supplies access to data that can be used to find the root cause of problems.
  • Allows reporting on long term trends in key metrics.

Predefined report packs are available across the supported technologies to fulfill typical reporting requirements for Payments Switches and PRM. Business Insight is flexible and dynamic to respond to individual reporting requirements based on customer needs, for example, Locations, Top N Listings, Numbers, Subnets and Service Level Calculations.

The following capabilities are available by using Business Insight:

  • ‘Out-of-the-box’ reports that leverage metrics collected by Transact.
  • Scheduled and on demand reporting capabilities.
  • Capability to distribute reports automatically via email to predefined lists of recipients or saved to a file share.
  • New reports can be configured and generated easily using industry standards based on Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.
  • Reports that can be easily configured to display data in either graphical or tabular format.
  • Several Report formats are available allowing customized commentary to be added to each document (e.g. PDF, Word, Excel, HTML, CSV, XML).

The 'out-of-the-box' report packs can be extended to address specific reporting needs. Using the packaged reports and the underlying stored procedures as a basis, the built-in SQL Reporting Services Report Builder can be used to copy and modify existing reports or create entirely new ones. To assist with this, the schema for the data models is available. More details on using the SSRS Report Builder can be found in the Microsoft documentation and tutorials.

ATM Manager

ATM Manager is available for use on the following payments switches: BASE24 BASE24-EPS POSTILION

ATM Manager provides a comprehensive solution for managing day-to-day ATM operations. The functionality provided makes it easy to monitor all ATM problems and manage ATMs pro-actively, ensuring the highest level of efficient operations. Real-time Displays/dashboards are provided with ATM Manager that is used by operators to monitor and report on ATM status with the ability to automatically dispatch Problem Tickets for an extensive range of ATM issues. Service personnel can acknowledge or update ticket status remotely and third-party service providers can update their estimated arrival time, add ticket commentary or query the ATM status.

ATM Manager can be used with the following payment systems:

  • ACI BASE24
  • ACI BASE24-eps
  • ACI Postilion

With ATM Manager, it is possible to:

  • Remotely access and analyze all payment system transaction data

  • Optimize rules, streamline queues and flag overdue tickets

  • Analyze down times by ATM type, group or service provider

  • Access real-time data on availability, service times, transaction timeouts, underutilized ATMs, or BINS with excessive denials

  • Generate detailed reports on thousands of diagnostic metrics

  • Remotely reboot, update software and manage your entire ATM fleet from a single dashboard

Transaction Manager

Transaction Manager is available for use on the following payments switches: BASE24 BASE24-EPS IST/SWITCH CONNEX POSTILION

Application Manager is available for use on the following payments switches: POSTILION

Transaction Manager and Application Manager (for Postilion) provide system monitoring and analysis of Automated Teller Machine (ATM) and Point of Sale (POS) financial transactions.

Transaction Manager

This is used to monitor Automated Teller Machine (ATM) and Point of Sale (POS) transaction details and includes analysis and reporting functions.

Application Manager

This monitors Postilion Realtime components such as: source nodes, sink nodes, interchanges, Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) and terminals.

Application Manager uses the framework provided by Transaction Manager, with an additional configuration to allow for Postilion system monitoring.



Transaction Surveillance

Transaction Surveillance is available for use on the following payments switches: BASE24 BASE24-EPS CONNEX IST/SWITCH POSTILION

Transaction Surveillance is designed to extract transaction details, in real time, based upon user-defined rules from financial networks. It can then make this data available to the necessary business groups for analysis.

Based on the highly efficient architecture used in the Transaction Manager products, Transaction Surveillance is able to achieve real time transaction visibility with extremely low overheads.

Typically, the user-defined rules specify problem conditions where a transaction should be flagged as an exception. When a transaction exception occurs, Transaction Surveillance can instantly show the transaction and alert any interested parties via email or pager (when used in conjunction with the Automated Operations product). Transaction Surveillance captures details of the transaction including the PAN (Primary Account Number), terminal id, amount, location, currency and much more.

Transaction Surveillance also allows operators to monitor a particular terminal or cardholder to view transactions as they occur.

Merchant Portal

This feature is available for the following Transaction Manager products: B24EPS BASE24 CONNEX IST POSTILION

Introduced in Prognosis 11.6, this feature allows customers to offer their premium merchants a secure real-time view into their transactions via the Web Application interface.

Customers have the ability to tailor the User Interface that is presented to their merchants, starting from a provided example.

Tokenized Payments

Tokenized Payments is an add-on module for Transact. It is available for Card Issuers to monitor tokenized payment deployments such as Apple Pay, Android Pay and Samsung Pay. The solution provides full lifecycle monitoring of the activation, transactions, and updates to cards that are provisioned for tokenized payments. It allows the early detection of issues in the environment, and visibility into the take up of the new technology across the customer base.

ACI BASE24 and BASE24-eps

ACI BASE24 is an integrated set of software solutions offered by ACI Worldwide for banking and payments systems. It consists of a range of EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) products that include:

BASE24-atm
This is an integrated EFT processing and switching system that provides ATM (Automated Teller Machine) management, transaction routing and authorization, host and interchange interfaces, settlement, management reporting, network control, and stored value functionality. Operating on the HPE NonStop platform, it provides a solution for delivering services through ATMs, kiosks and self-service devices.

BASE24-pos
This product is an automated authorization and payment system for debit and credit card transactions. It can act as an issuer and provide transaction authorization or act as an acquirer and receive transactions from point-of-sale terminals and the Internet. Again, operating on the HPE NonStop platform, BASE24-pos offers data integrity for these mission-critical applications.

BASE24-eps
BASE24-eps is an integrated payment engine that is used to acquire, authenticate, route, switch, and authorize financial transactions across multiple channels. It provides a full range of functionality to support payment transactions, including branch transactions, debit and credit at ATMs and point of sale, telephone banking, etc. BASE24-eps supports a broad range of computing environments and can be deployed on a variety of HP, IBM and Sun platforms.

Transact offers four main products for monitoring ACI BASE24 environments, these are:

  • XPNET Manager, which collects and manages a comprehensive set of status, configuration, performance and event information from BASE24 XPNET application components.

  • Transaction Manager, which is used to monitor Automated Teller Machine (ATM) and Point of Sale (POS) transaction details and includes analysis and reporting functions

  • Transaction Surveillance, which is designed to assist in the detection of fraudulent transactions on ATM and POS networks.

  • ATM Manager, which is used to manage problem tickets for faults detected on monitored ATMs. It also provides the facilities to automate problem resolutions or to attempt manual intervention.

ACI Money Transfer System

Money Transfer System™, or MTS, is a multi-bank, multi-currency payment processing system developed by ACI Worldwide. It provides a complete integrated payment solution for domestic and international funds transfer by combining queue management, message routing, message translation and formatting, together with sophisticated payment processing, risk control and liquidity management software.

Transact provides System Administrators with the 'real-time' data that is necessary to ensure efficient MTS operations. The data provided can be used to check for queue 'bottlenecks', monitor line status and ensure that critical deadlines are met. All of the data metrics are easily accessed through a range of pre-packaged MTS Displays. These provide System Administrators with a dashboard view of the overall MTS operations in their payments environment.

MTS Pulse Monitor

In addition to the full MTS Monitoring product, as described above, Transact also has available the abridged MTS Pulse Monitor product. This product is limited to Queue and Account Summary monitoring and offers a secure web-based replacement for the former ACI Excel based tool.

ACI Postilion

The Postilion product range, offered by ACI Worldwide, provides payments, online banking and branch banking solutions for financial institutions, retailers, independent sales organizations and payment processors.

ACI Postilion transaction monitoring now includes Transaction Manager and Transaction Surveillance functionality. These features provide real-time summary statistics that enable alerts on transaction anomalies such as; high decline rates, high stand-in or reversal counts, or drop-offs in transaction rates. The new functionality is provided in the form of new Postilion transaction summary records, dashboards, reports and alerts. In addition, new settings have been added to the POSTILION Configuration to support the new features.

The full range of Postilion monitoring now includes:

  • Transaction Surveillance
    This product makes use of user-defined rules to extract transaction data for analysis which in turn is used to assist in the detection of fraudulent transactions.

  • ATM Manager
    This is used to manage problem tickets for faults detected on monitored ATMs. It also provides the facilities to automate problem resolutions or to attempt manual intervention.

ACI Proactive Risk Manager

Proactive Risk Manager™, or PRM, is a comprehensive debit and credit card fraud detection product developed by ACI Worldwide. PRM works by evaluating the probability that transactions are fraudulent and then uses a series of rules to determine if an alert should be generated for the transaction. Reviewers analyze the alerts that have been generated in order to determine a correct course of action to take.

Transact provides a solution to monitor and manage the Proactive Risk Manager environment including an insight into the rules, queues and reviewer performance as well as in-depth coverage of the infrastructure that PRM is running on.

Transact provides monitoring support for ACI Proactive Risk Manager versions 7 and 8. However, it can only be configured to support a single PRM version at a time, i.e. both versions cannot be monitored in the same server simultaneously.

ATM Outage Adjuster

ATM Outage Adjuster is a part of the Transact product suite. It is a stand-alone application that is used in conjunction with the reporting function of the ATM Manager product, which produces ATM Availability and Service Time Analysis reports. It is installed only on the ATM Manager Database server and must be run from that machine.

FIS Connex

Connex is a global electronic payment application provided by FIS, Fidelity Information Services. It can be used to process a range of online transaction activities, including EFT, EBT and POS. The Connex software offers a single, integrated hardware and software solution for transaction acquisition, processing, settlement and reporting.

Transact offers two main products for monitoring FIS Connex environments, these are:

FIS IST/Switch

IST/Switch is a high-performance credit and debit processing switch provided by FIS, Fidelity Information Services. IST/Switch manages ATM and POS networks, electronic funds transfer and inter-network switching. IST/Switch offers full compliance with all major networks, proven high performance, and full customization for any processing environment.
