Monitoring Alert Suppression

Alert Suppression includes a pre-packaged Display that provides information on the Mapping Service that controls the Alert Suppression processing. Using this display, diagnostics and status of the service are provided.

To access this Display from the Web Application - View Systems tool, go to the first (Group) navigation panel, click on the 'Servers' item. This will populate the second (Instance) navigation pane with a list of monitored Prognosis servers. Click on a server name to open the Server Overview dashboard. In the Server Navigation panel, click on the 'Prognosis Status' link, this will open the Prognosis Status dashboard. In the third row of this dashboard, click on the 'Suppression' link, this will open the Alert Suppression dashboard.

Display Data

Node Name

For Configuration and Sync Status windows. These are the servers currently configured or enabled with alert suppression feature.

For CI Mapping, Suppression totals and DB Totals this is the top level node processing the AMQP messages.

Global Supp Enabled

Shows whether global Alert Suppression is enabled

Local Supp Enabled

Shows whether Local Suppression is enabled on this server

NODE GROUP

The Node Group configured in the system to contain all servers that utilize AMQP messaging

DB Size

The number of bytes of the suppression database that is sent to all Monitoring servers for synchronization

Last Sync Status

The result status of the last AMQP message processed

Last Sync Time

The time the last AMQP message was processed

MODE

Shows the suppression mode of the server, can be one of either: Management or Monitoring

Total Mapped Alerts

The total count of alerts that have an entry in the Configuration Item (CI) database

Total Not Mapped Alerts

The total count of alerts that do not have an entry in the Configuration Item (CI) database

Not Suppressed

The total count of alerts triggered that do not have any suppression flag set

Suppressed

The total count of alerts triggered that do have the suppression flag set

By Component

The total count of alerts suppressed by component

By Customer

The total count of alerts suppressed by customer

By Device

The total count of alerts suppressed by device

By Node

The total count of alerts suppressed by node

ERRORS

The total count of general database errors or exceptions

LOST CONNECTION

Number of times the connection to the database has been lost

RECONNECT

Number of times the connection to the database has been reconnected

QUERYS

The total count of queries sent to the database
