Security FUNCTION Parameter

The SECURITY Configuration can include a function in each REVOKE or GRANT statement that determines the function of an object to be denied or allowed to a user. Standard operations map to these functions as follows:

ANALYST

Function

Description

START

Allows the user to start an Analyst.

STOP

Allows the user to stop an Analyst.

INFO

Allows the user access to the Analyst properties.

ACK

Allows the user to acknowledge (ACK) an Analyst detected problem.

SUSPEND

Allows the user to suspend an Analyst or an Analyst rule.

ACTIVATE

Allows the user to activate an Analyst or an Analyst rule.

COMMAND

Function

Description

EXECUTE

Allows the user to execute a command on all command destinations or a specified destination (e.g. Analyst, Dispatch Manager, Tivoli Console, Shell).

CONFIGURATION

Allows the user to start a Configuration.

STOP

Allows the user to stop a Configuration.

INFO

Allows the user access to the Configuration properties.

DATABASE

Allows the user access to the database properties.

READ

Allows the user to replay a database collection or summary.

WRITE

Allows the user to collect a database collection.

STOP

Allows the user to stop a database collection or summary.

DELETE

Allows the user to delete a database collection or summary.

To summarize a database, READ and INFO access on the source database is required together with WRITE access on the destination database.

Allows the user to start a Threshold.

STOP

Allows the user to stop a Threshold.

Allows the user access to the Threshold properties.

ACK

Allows the user to acknowledge (ACK) a Threshold detected problem.

SUSPEND

Allows the user to suspend a Threshold or Threshold rule.

ACTIVATE

Allows the user to activate a Threshold or Threshold rule.

Threshold Conditions can be started or stopped. This requires START or STOP access on the Threshold to which the condition belongs.
