Login Authentication

Web Application

The Web Application user is authenticated using one of the following mechanisms:

  • Windows Active Directory (AD) service available on the server. Access policies should be configured through Active Directory to grant specific users access.

  • A configured LDAP server, for details see the LDAP Authentication.

  • Web Browser Single Sign On, for details see the Single Sign On.

Windows Client

The Windows Client user is authenticated via one of the following mechanisms:

  • Windows Active Directory (AD) service available on the server. Access policies should be configured via Active Directory to grant specific users access.

  • A configured LDAP server

Recommendations

Regardless of the authentication mechanism, the following is recommended:

  • Access policy should restrict the number of logon attempts

  • Access policy should set a strong password policy

  • Limit the number of local machine Windows accounts
