In order to carry out patch installations, the File Transfer Setup should be set up to use 'root' credentials. i.e. the user at the Receiver server should be 'root'.

Once this has been done, the 'Transfer and Install Patch' Command is used to carry out the patch install on the specified Receiver server in the network. The 'Transfer and Install Patch' Command can be opened by clicking the Deploy Patch link on the File Transfer Display or alternatively it can be found in the following folder path of the Document Navigator of the Windows Client:

Knowledge → Common → Command Store

The Command prompt form needs to be completed with the following information:

  1. Which server or node groups is the patch to be deployed to? This is a comma separated list that can contain individual server names, node group names (prefixed with #) or a combination of both. E.g. \server1, #Unix and Linux Systems\Platforms\OS Types\AIX
  2. The patch file name and location. The default location is <Prognosis_Home>\Server\Configuration, but a relative path from the Configuration folder can be provided.
  3. Nominate if the patch file installation requires a Prognosis restart. Enter Y (Yes) or N (No).

When this information has been completed click on the Continue button to run the command.
