Monitoring IIS Management Data

The IIS Management data collected can be viewed through a range of pre-packaged Displays.

The IIS Central Display provides a single node view of IIS data for a selected node. This Display provides the status of the current IIS services together with the total number of files sent and the total number of connection attempts.

This Display can be accessed from the Windows Server Overview Display by clicking on the IIS link in the 'Server Navigation' window.

Display Data

IIS Services

This table provides details of each monitored IIS service.

Service Name

IIS service display name. Clicking on a Service name will open the Events from IIS Admin Service Display which shows detailed log information for each event.

Status

Current status of the IIS service.

Executable Name

Service process executable name.

PID

Process ID. Clicking on a PID number will open the Process Details Display which shows detailed information about the selected process.

Internal Name

Service internal name.

Total Files Sent

Web Site Name

Name of the Web service performance counter. Clicking on a site name will open the Site Details Display.

Total

Total number of files sent by the Web service (counted since service startup).


Total Connection Attempts

Web Site

Name of the Web service performance counter. Clicking on a site name will open the Site Details Display.

Total

Number of connections that have been attempted using the Web service (counted since service startup). This counter is for all instances listed.

Total Memory (MB) Usage vs IIS

Total amount of memory being used (in MBs) vs IIS usage.

Total CPU Usage % vs IIS

Total percentage of CPU being used vs IIS usage.

Total Concurrent Connections

Chart showing the number of Anonymous and Non-anonymous users who have current connections.

Total IIS Traffic

Chart showing the amount of data bytes received and sent per second.

A number of Links are available at the top of the Central Display that will open further Displays showing detailed data. 

Requests

Clicking on this link will open the IIS Requests Display which includes graphs showing ASP, ISAPI and HTTP request rates.

Performance

Clicking on this link will open the IIS Performance Display which includes cache statistics, IIS traffic rates and concurrent connection details.

Ports Open

Clicking on this link will open the Ports Open by IIS Display which provides a list of all ports opened by IIS together with a selection of data.

Reports

Clicking on this link will open the IIS Reports Central Display. This Display provides access to a range of printable report data.

Events Central

Clicking on this link will open the Event Central Display.

Multi-Server Display

A multi-server Display is also provided for IIS monitoring. Where available, this Display can be accessed from the Monitored Applications Display by selecting the IIS link in the Application/Servers table.
