VMware vCenter Server monitoring provides system administrators with the tools necessary to obtain the performance and availability metrics that are needed to analyze, manage and report on virtual environment operations.

VMware vCenter Server is used to centrally manage vSphere environments by providing unified management of all components contained within the virtualized environment from a single console.

VMware vCenter Server provides monitoring for the VMware virtual environment through the vCenter Server.

Any machines that are being used as Monitoring Servers must be running either a supported version of Microsoft Windows Server or RedHat Enterprise Linux, refer to Supported Platforms and Products for Transact and Infrastructure
