Performing HA Server Maintenance
Prognosis Servers that have been configured to be in a HA Pair need a little extra care and attention when performing any kind of maintenance activity. These activities can comprise of:
- Server operating system upgrades
- Prognosis Server upgrades
- PostgreSQL database and table schema upgrades
- Manual switchover between Active and Passive servers
- Pause and Resume Synchronisation
When performing scheduled maintenance and downtime on a HA Pair it is important to follow these high-level steps to ensure that the servers can be updated with minimal loss to data. For detailed instructions, follow the links in the procedure below and refer to the following pages.

High-Level Maintenance Steps
The HA Pair servers will be referred to as Server A (Active) and Server B (Passive).
Logon to the Web Application - View Systems and connect to the Managing Server of the HA Pair.
Pause Synchronisation of the HA Pair, see Pause and Resume Synchronization for details.
Perform any necessary maintenance on Server B.
Please note that during this time, any changes to the Configurations will not be synchronized until server Server B becomes connected again.
