Reporting Essentials for Web Application

Overview

The Reports Central dashboard provides a centralized point for generating data reports for all monitored systems. This page can be opened by clicking the Reports link on the toolbar.

A list of the available reports is shown on the left side, these are grouped together into a range of pre-defined product categories, e.g. Windows Servers, NonStop Servers, UNIX Servers etc. Hovering the mouse over a report name will, in most cases, provide a preview of the report format in the central panel. The icons shown adjacent to each report name are:

Adjusting for Larger/Slower Environments

If the weekly or monthly reports have incomplete data, then try to increase the RetryCount setting in the web.config file. This can be adjusted to give the data transfer more time to complete. The RetryCount limit is mostly of 50ms sleep-waits. For example, increasing RetryCount to 12000 should give reports up to 10 minutes for the data transfer to complete, which is appropriate for some larger/slower environments. The web.config file can be found in the following folder path:

<Prognosis_Home>\WebUI\IIS\Web.config

Using a text editor open the Web.config file and go to the <appSettings> section. It will be necessary to insert a new line <add key="RetryCount" value="12000" />.  If the statement is already present, simply change the value to "12000".

<configuration>
<appSettings>
...
<add key="RetryCount" value="12000" />
...
</appSettings>

When finished making the adjustment, close and save the file.

Next open and refresh the Report web page to enable the new behavior.
