Adding a CUC Offline Cluster

Use this option to add a new cluster. All devices/subscribers that are part of this cluster will have to be added separately using the Adding a CUC Offline Subscriber link or when the Cluster comes online the Refresh Online Cluster link in the Cluster Maintenance window can be used and the system will automatically obtain the subscriber names.

In a NAT environment, the Refresh Online Cluster link should not be used, even if the cluster is online. Prognosis will not be able to contact the subscribers that are discovered automatically.

After selecting the Add an Offline Cluster link on the Adding CUC Clusters to the Monitoring Server, the following dialog box will open.

Complete the fields as required:

Cluster Name
Enter a user-defined Cluster name. This field is free-format and is not validated.

Cluster names must be no more than 18 characters in length.

Customer name for this Cluster and Site for the Cluster
These fields are optional and are used for grouping purposes only, they do not affect the cluster name. If these are not required leave them as N/A. If these fields are completed the details will be visible in the All Cisco Unity Connection Appliances and the Unified Communications and Collaboration Central Displays and will group like customer and site named clusters together. Use only alphanumeric characters in these fields, special characters, such as; ! , @, will cause the cluster configuration not to start. To change the Customer and/or Site names after adding a cluster, see Cluster Maintenance for Cisco Unity Connection.

Publisher Node Name
Enter the name of the Publisher associated with this Cluster.

Publisher's IP Address
Enter the IPv4 address which the Prognosis monitoring server can use to contact the Publisher.

Prognosis operates in 'IPv6 Aware' mode. In terms of Cisco terminology, this means that Prognosis can receive and understand IPv6 addresses embedded in application interfaces although it communicates using IPv4 addresses. Therefore, it is important to note that IP addresses should remain in IPv4 format when configuring Cisco clusters to be monitored by Prognosis.

Node's Real IP Address
In a NAT environment use this field to enter the IPv4 address for the Publisher as configured on the CUC Administration interface. In a non-NAT environment enter a hyphen (-) to use the same IP address as the previous field.

Cluster Version
Enter the version number of the Cisco UC installation on this cluster.

User Name and User Password
Enter the username and password for the Publisher. For further details see the Setup CUC Access Credentials.

CLI Username and Password
Enter the username and password for the Cisco Command Line Interface (CLI). These are the credentials that Prognosis will use to send data requests to the Cisco Unity Connection Publisher CLI. The 'cuc dbquery' CLI command (Command privilege level 1) is run in order to retrieve user/mailbox statistics. It is run at start up and then once a day at around 4:00am. For further details see the Setup CUC Access Credentials.
