Display Run Modes

Displays have three "Run Mode" options,

  • Online - shows real-time data continually over specified intervals.

  • Replay - replays the contents of a Database Collection, which has been linked to the Display through the Database tab of the Display properties dialog box.

  • Report - reads a Database Collection or Summary, as set in the Database tab of the Display properties dialog box, and outputs the data to screen, Excel or printer.

The way that each "Run Mode" operates is summarized in the following table.

Replaying data

N/A

Data requires manual intervention to replay. Click the >> Fast forward button to start.

Data replays automatically through the reported data period.

At completion of data replay

N/A

For Replay documents that have:

- The replay stop time specified as 'End of data', and

- The 'Use Collection Interval' option selected or the interval set to zero (same meaning)

an 'End of data to replay' message will be shown indicating the expected time of the next data interval and the replay will then continue.

When these options are not selected a simple 'End of replay' message will be shown and the replay will stop.

Replay stops with no further action.

"Send to Excel" function.

(Note- The Send to Excel button on the Toolbar will send all data, whilst the right-click option sends data only from the selected Window.)

Limited to the data shown on screen when being sent.

Replay must be paused and data sent is limited to the data shown on screen.

Report must either be completed or paused. Data sent to Excel is the entire range of data.

(NOTE: - Be careful with this option you may get a very large Excel file.)
