Record:

Recommended action:

The total number of transcoders that are in use on all transcoder devices that are registered with Cisco Unified Communications Manager is high for a short period of time. A transcoder takes the media stream of one codec and transcodes (converts) it from one compression type to another compression type. The Cisco Unified Communications Manager invokes a transcoder on behalf of endpoint devices when the two devices use different voice codecs and would normally not be able to communicate. User should consider setting up endpoints to use the same codec where possible to minimise the need of transcoding. If transcoding resource utilization is still likely to increase in the future due to other limitation, please consider to add more transcoder to increase the overall resource available.
